1. Eligibility

MoneyJars is intended for individuals 18 years of age or older.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years old
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You are using the Service for personal, lawful purposes only

2. Account Registration

To use MoneyJars, you must create an account using:

• An email address and password, or
• Google OAuth authentication

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account

You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep it up to date.

3. Nature of the Service

MoneyJars is a budgeting and financial habit-tracking tool that allows users to organize self-entered financial data into categories ("jars") for personal awareness and decision-making.

MoneyJars is not:

• A bank
• A financial institution
• A payment processor
• A provider of financial, investment, tax, or legal advice

All data entered into the Service is manually provided by users.

4. Financial Disclaimer

You acknowledge and agree that:

• All financial decisions remain entirely your responsibility
• MoneyJars does not guarantee financial outcomes
• Budgeting calculations, categorizations, or summaries may contain errors or inaccuracies
• You use the Service at your own risk

MoneyJars is not liable for:

• Financial losses
• Missed payments
• Overspending or underspending
• Decisions made based on information shown in the app

5. User Data & Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you enter into MoneyJars, including transactions, categories, and descriptions.

By using the Service, you grant MoneyJars a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to:

• Store
• Process
• Display
• Use your data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service

This license ends when your account and data are deleted, except where retention is required by law.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to exploit, harm, or disrupt the Service
• Reverse engineer or copy the Service
• Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
• Use the Service in a way that could damage infrastructure or security

7. Account Suspension & Termination

MoneyJars reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Abuse the Service
• Attempt fraud or manipulation
• Harm or threaten system integrity
• Engage in unlawful or harmful behavior

Inactive Accounts

We may delete free accounts that remain inactive for an extended period, with or without prior notice.

8. Subscriptions & Billing

MoneyJars may offer paid subscription plans.

• Subscriptions are auto-renewing by default
• Billing is handled by a third-party payment processor
• You authorize recurring charges according to your selected plan

9. Refund Policy

Refunds are available only for first-time subscribers within seven (7) days of the initial subscription purchase.

No refunds are provided for:

• Subscription renewals
• Partial billing periods
• Promotional or discounted plans
• Accounts terminated for violation of these Terms

All refund requests must be submitted by contacting us at privacy@moneyjars.app.

MoneyJars reserves the right to deny refund requests that appear abusive or fraudulent.

10. Pricing Changes

MoneyJars reserves the right to:

• Change pricing
• Introduce new plans
• Modify subscription features

Pricing changes will apply to future billing cycles.

11. Service Modifications & Availability

We may, at any time:

• Modify features
• Add or remove functionality
• Suspend or discontinue parts or all of the Service

We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice for major changes or shutdowns but are not obligated to maintain the Service indefinitely.

12. Communications

By creating an account, you consent to receive:

• Service-related communications
• Product updates
• Educational content
• Marketing and promotional emails

You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time via unsubscribe links or by contacting us.

13. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate or rely on third-party services (e.g., authentication, analytics, payments).

MoneyJars is not responsible for:

• Third-party service availability
• Third-party terms or privacy practices

Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.

MoneyJars disclaims all warranties, including:

• Accuracy
• Reliability
• Availability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• MoneyJars shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages
• If liability is found, it shall be limited to:
  • The amount you paid to MoneyJars in the last 12 months, or
  • Zero, if you used a free plan

This applies even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MoneyJars from any claims, losses, or liabilities arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your financial decisions or actions

17. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises:

• You agree to first attempt informal resolution by contacting us
• If unresolved, disputes may be handled through courts of competent jurisdiction

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by neutral governing law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

• Updates will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date
• Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms
